I need help debunking the 9/11 conspiracy theory

Someone was trying to convince me of the absurdity that 9/11 was an inside job and since I had trouble making ends meet, I figured people at this site would be better at making the counterarguments. So if for those who have already tied the loose ends together, can you please tell me what the counter arguments are for:

How it's possible that the Pentagon could be hit despite having anti-aircraft missiles and having an airforce base next door and despite all of the urgent warnings that an attack within the US was imminent AND that at 8:16 it was known that a plane had been hijacked. Not to mention Norman Pinetta's testimony of Cheney barking that the orders still stand. Let alone that the flight path of that plane maneuvered in such a way as to be virtually impossible by even an ace pilot..

Dear Presidential Candidates,

I don't think y'all fully realize the potential of the podium and how much change you can implement RIGHT NOW if you were to simply enumerate some of the very simple key ways that business and government can be creating jobs and protecting the environment while ALSO creating jobs.

Example 1: Say that when you're the President you'll create jobs by hiring electricians to install light and motion sensors in every building in America. This puts money in the electricians' pockets, money in the pockets of those who pay the electric bill, reduces global warming emissions AND reduces dependence on foreign oil. Be sure to ponder why it is that Bush and his Republican Congress hasn't already done this.

Example 2: Say that the government under you will hire every plumber to install aerated faucets in every building since water is becoming more and more of a precious resource. Aerated faucets make the flow 50% air, 50% water, yet it actually becomes more viable for things like doing dishes.

Example 3: TOUT THE HELL OUT OF BOOKS LIKE PAUL HAWKENS' Natural Capitalism, which actually has the above ideas and countless others. On the back cover is a quote from Bill Clinton saying that business and political leaders at all levels need to read it.

The other day I delivered pizza to a WWII vet who had just come out of a comma after 20 years. It was my last delivery, so my manager said I could take my time coming back to the store when I told her I wanted to talk to him for a while to fill him in on current events.

First I showed him Bush's résumé and then I showed him a collection of videos of Bush speaking. He lost control of his bowels and then began projectile vomiting.

Then I spent the next few hours showing him the résumé of The Man we could have replaced him with.

"You guys could have replaced President Pissant with a West Point valedictorian who took 4 bullets in Vietnam, miraculously guided NATO and had 20/20 foresight on Iraq, yet you turned it down!!?? How could you be been so blind and deaf???!!!" Then he beat the living shit out of me for failing to bring that switch to fruition.

Why should I excuse Hillary for being so chummy with Cheney???

I've got a few dozen reasons for being baffled that anyone approves of Hillary: she violated the Constitution when she gave President Magoo the authority to declare war sans Congress; she stupidly said she expected chucklenuts to use the authority "wisely"; she didn't even read the intelligence report; the synopsis of Her Way.

I've heard excuse after excuse for all of these things. And I'll admit that a decent rationalization can be made for all of them. But, as Jon Stewart was quick to highlight, at the last state of the union address she was chumming it up with Cheney as if they were the best of friends.

Cheney is a war criminal who deliberately took us to war solely so he and his buddies could get rich. So how can anyone excuse her for treating him in such a way when he should be shown nothing but the utmost contempt and indignation?

...Or are my standards too high?

The primary reasons why Wes Clark's candidacy didn't fly was because of untruths and irrelevancies; the biggest untruth being that he was fired for character and integrity issues. The other main ones being that, a) he almost started WWIII; b) he had previously been a Republican. (He had indeed voted for Reagan, but had actually always been an Independent as per military guidelines.); c) he was for a flag burning amendment

In other words, we turned down the best man for the job based on fallacies and issues that should have been moot.

Most of the Democrats in Congress are not advocating impeachment, not because it's unmerited on principle, but because it's unlikely to garner enough votes to remove the bastards; plus we've got more important things to focus on. Many diaries have already expounded on the speciousness of this argument; mainly that the hearings and exposure will very likely garner the votes. And, either way, it's the God*mned principle of the thing.

Obviously such diaries have thus far fallen on deaf ears. Evidently Pelosi et al need to have it explained to them like they're five-year-olds:

THE WHOLE POINT OF THE AMERICAN CONSTITUTION IS ACCOUNTABILITY. HENCE, EVERY CONGRESS PERSON WHO DOES NOT ADVOCATE IMPEACHMENT IS ADVOCATING THAT THE BUSH ADMINISTRATION NOT BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE; THEREBY MAKING OUR CONSTITUTION MEANINGLESS, NULL AND VOID.

Mrs. Pelosi, would you dare say that "accountability" is off the table? Because, in effect, you have.

My website business is finally about to announce its official "grand opening," and I've just decided that it's incumbent upon me to post on my enter page the aforementioned title. Before I had any such business to make a soap box out of I has simply dreamed of the sign saying, "if you're pro-Bush..."

Obviously such a disclaimer would deter a lot of big sponsors...but I'm betting that others factions would make up for it. Perhaps it would even start a chain reaction.

Sorry to be a tease about what the product is, but suffice it to say, it's a totally green product and if you ask Wendi the vegetarian waitress what she thinks of the logo, she'll tell you that "it's fucking awesome."

I'm assuming I won't get banned for this since I'm providing such a credible source; (especially since Paul Craig Roberts also issued a similar warning recently).

A group of former government officials along with current Congressional candidates, authors and activists has issued an urgent warning that a faction of the US government allied with Dick Cheney is planning to stage a terror event or provocation as a pretext for launching military attacks against Iran and implementing emergency powers in America.

Former US Congresswoman Cynthia McKinney, along with former US Diplomat and Colonel in the US Army reserve Ann Wright have put their names to an open letter warning that massive evidence points to an upcoming event.

Current Congressional candidates Cindy Sheehan and Craig Hill are also among the signatories to the letter.

If "The Truth Shall Set You Free," then I say it's high time we apply the truth to Bush and force his ass out of the White House once and for all. It's already been established that Kerry won (let alone Gore), so that means it's incumbent upon us to force Bush to have to acknowledge it. If the members of the press corp actually were citizens of conscience, they'd have already put "President" Bush on the spot with this question and backed it up with the preponderance of evidence that Kerry won.

So it's up to us to force their hand.

(If you scoff at the idea that we have the power to determine how bright of a spotlight Bush has to face, then ask yourself why you bother to participate in websites like Daily Kos.)

I was going to put that title in quotes and attribute it to President Magoo and of course make the point that even though he's never said those exact words, his actions and decisions certainly have conveyed that sentiment. But then I realized that I don't have to put it quotes since, technically speaking, Bush speaks for me since I'm a member of we the people.

There's a disconnect between the treatment we'd like our troops and veterans to get versus the actual treatment they get. It's written about on here ad infinitum, yet we still haven't translated our rage and indignation and compassion into results. Perhaps we need to give more emphasis to our collective dissatisfaction that this is happening on our watch.

"SCREW THE TROOPS" is now the American way. So if I have to be guilty of ostensibly facilitating that way, the least I can do is have the courtesy to say it to their faces as loudly and clearly as my fecklessness implies.

Speaking to Rolling Stone recently John Edwards demonized single-payer health care: "Do you think the American people want the same people who responded to Hurricane Katrina to run their health-care system?"

IS HE KIDDING US??? THAT SOUNDS EXACTLY LIKE WHAT A REPUBLICAN WOULD SAY!

I know I'm gonnna get flack for giving him flack, but we're supposed to hold potential presidents' feet to the fire if we expect to have the standards we deserve. And for such a popular candidate to say something so incredibly specious and reminiscent of Republicanism is quite disturbing. Hopefully all of you Edwards supporters will either recognize from this that he's not worthy of the office of the president so we can focus on the candidates who actually plan on raising the bar instead of accepting the same standards set by Bush and the Republicans.
