This FISA vote was another last straw for the Democrats' waning endearment from the Left. The defense they gave was that Bush needs that extra power to protect us [and there's no reason to think he would abuse that power, so take a chill pill].
It's highly perturbing that anyone should need to point out to some of the Democrats the countless times that Bush proved that he doesn't act in good faith. But it's too late now anyway, now that, thanks to the Military Commissions act of 2006 the government can detain anyone indefinitely without trial. The bill could cause you to be labeled as an enemy combatant for simply protesting any government policy!
There's only way that I could retract the utter rage and contempt I have for this and every other time the feckless Democrats' have enabled the Bush crime family and that would be if the Democrats could legitimately finish the sentence, "George W. Bush deserves the benefit of the doubt because..."
